 The Stakeholders, Inc., is looking for people who want to make a difference in their communities to apply for the new streamlined Stakeholders Institute. Combining three focus areas into one program, the new Institute educates the current and next generations of philanthropists on how to use their time, talents and treasures in the Capital Region. Running from October through May, the Institute has a curriculum crafted to engage and inform 'students' on the focus areas of: Philanthropy, Arts & Culture and Sustainable Communities. The first session of this 8-month program will be held at the Arts Center of the Capital Region on Saturday, October 15 beginning at 10 a.m. If you are interested in finding out more about the Institute, please join us on Saturday. The Stakeholders Institute consists of an opening retreat in the fall, six (6) educational sessions, a closing retreat in the spring, and graduation. Each participant will complete a personal philanthropy plan and attend at least one board meeting of a local not-for-profit organization. In addition, members will participate in a group Capstone Project, where they will contribute their time, talent, and treasure to help a local not-for-profit achieve a goal. All participants will receive a free copy of the course text book. This year, approximately 20 participants will be accepted for the program. Once notified of acceptance into the Stakeholders Institute, participants can pay online.
